Donate your personal collections and records to QAMRA, where they may be preserved for the benefit of future generations.
Become a part of queer history in India!
QAMRA’s collections are a historic and unique testimony to the lives of marginalized queer people in India. We employ recognized and best practices to make them available to future generations. Our holdings have been entrusted and gifted to us by individuals and organizations seeking a safe, permanent home for records and collections that have been held with love and concern over time.
Personal, collective, and organizational collections are often broad-based and represent the arc of lifelong activity and memory. We archive both queer histories and queer people in history.
We welcome donations of private papers, magazines, documentation, films, digital works, books, art, and objects. To discuss donating materials, please write to QAMRA.
Sensitivity and Discretion: Collections of queer people are often of an intimate or sensitive nature. We work closely with our donors to ensure a transparent and supportive process. In addition, we also discuss levels of public access, where materials can be held only for preservation purposes and not for public access, embargoed for a period of time, or with information redaction to protect individual privacy.
