On 26 August 2023, NLSIU Chancellor and Hon’ble Chief Justice of India Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, along with the Chief Guest Her Royal Highness Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck, formally opened the remodelled NLSIU Library, and spent time at our exhibition.

On 6 September 2018, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, including the current CJI, delivered a unanimous verdict in Navtej Singh Johar & Ors. v Union of India, declaring portions of the law relating to consensual sexual acts between adults unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is currently considering whether to extend the right to marry and establish a family to queer Indians in Supriyo v Union of India.
